Top 40 Songs of Appraise

These are my top 40-ish songs that demonstrate affective values i.e. that our drive, motivation, and goals, all come from our feelings i.e. from emotional appraisals of the world around us. Nature gives us feelings to tell us what things in our environment are emotionally satisfying and worthy of pursuit. So, these are songs that acknowledge the emotional drive, explicitly or implicitly. (Note, this is not suggesting that emotion should be our source of knowledge or beliefs. Knowledge is the domain of reason and science. Reason and emotion work together, they perform different but complementary functions. Reason informs us, and emotion moves us).
